Floyd Casey

Floyd Casey of Ste. Genevieve passed away on Monday, December 17, 2012, at the age of 85. He was born on May 16, 1927, in St. Louis, son of the late Avery and Beulah (Powell) Casey. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Michael Casey and two daughters, Sharon Brichfield and Diane Casey. Floyd was raised around the Cherryville, Missouri area where he became a very hard worker at an early age. He was very independent and taught himself to read. While attending church he met Freida Alma Bullock whom he married. He worked for many years as a dye setter for Shure Manufacturing Company in St. Louis. After his retirement he enjoyed playing Solitaire and working on his farm. Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Freida; his children, Floyd (Mary) Casey, Jr., Cathy (Terry) Hochstatter, Linda Bryan, Roberta (Charlie) Wiles and Faye (David) Branstetter; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren and eleven great-great grandchildren. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel and Crematory on Wednesday, December 19 from 1 to 2 p.m. Services will follow at 2 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Pastor Matthew Prihoda officiating.
