Florence Asberry

Florence Juanita Asberry of Farmington passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2009, at Parkland Health Center, at the age of 75 years. She was born on July 20, 1933, at Knob Lick, the daughter of the late Arthur Downing and Ada Lucille (Heck) Bowyer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Asberry, a daughter, Pamela Jean Rector and a grandson, Brock Thomure. Mrs. Asberry had worked at SEMO Mental Health Center as a psychiatric aide and retired after over 30 years of service. She enjoyed watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball. Most of all, she enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her three children, Dorothy Mowrey of the State of Oklahoma, Arthur Hahn and wife Coletta of Farmington, and Vickie Kirkland and husband Brian of Nixa, MO, a brother, Roy A. Boyer and wife Rosalie of the State of Arizona, 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Other relatives and friends also survive. The family will receive friends at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2009. Visitation will resume at 7 a.m. on Wednesday with a funeral service at 2 p.m. at the Cozean Chapel. Burial will be at Knob Lick Cemetery.
