Finis Simpson

Finis Simpson of Farmington passed away August 11, 2006, at St. Lukes Hospital at the age of 75 years. He was born on January 15, 1931, at Oregon County, MO, to the late Thomas Ray and Lena (Pigg) Simpson. He was also preceded by three brothers, Richard, Eddie, and the Rev. Walter Simpson, and by a sister, Anna Lee Ogden. Finis was an authentic Christian serving the Lord as an ordained deacon and Sunday School teacher for more than 30 years. He was a member of the Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church at Park Hills, MO. After serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, he attended Bailey Technical School in St. Louis, He was employed by Fitz Chevrolet, and retired in 1994 from Turners Chevrolet. During his retirement he was employed by the Farmington School District as a bus driver. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Anna Marie Simpson, by three daughters, Kathy Norrid (Dale) of Cleveland, OK, Kimberly Weiss (Jeff) of Morton, IL, and Karen Pellegrino (Charlie) of Longmont, CO, and one son, Kenneth Simpson (Jodi) of Kansas City. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and by two sisters, Marie Crocker and Louise Guinn and by two brothers, Earl and Virgil Simpson. Several nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends also survive. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, August 12, at the Cozean Memorial Chapel. Visitation will resume on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. with a funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. at the Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church in Park Hills, with the Rev. Kenneth Simpson and the Rev. Wayne Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Wilderness Cemetery at Wilderness, MO. Memorials may be directed to the Free Will Baptist Bible College of Nashville, TN.
