Evelyn Pansy Buchanan

Evelyn Pansy Buchanan of Farmington passed away on Friday, November 29, 2013, at the age of 92. She was born on January 10, 1921, in Advance, MO, daughter of the late James Marion Burchett and Carrie Ethel (Brown) Shell. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Willard Edward Smith and her late husband, Martin Buchanan. She was also preceded in death by a sister and two brothers. Evelyn was a classy and graceful lady who enjoyed ballroom dancing. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Farmington. Spending time with family and going to Renaissance Fairs with them was a favorite pastime of hers. Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Imogene Sara Stone, a son, Jerry Edward Smith and wife, Kay; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and numerous other extended family. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. Visitation will resume Wednesday morning beginning at 7 a.m. until the time of the funeral at 10 a.m. with Dr. William Miller officiating. Private interment will be at Marvin Chapel Cemetery in Bonne Terre. Memorials may be made to the Farmington Pet Adoption Center.
