Evelyn Marberry

FARMINGTON Evelyn Ruth Marberry, passed away February 5, 2022 at her residence at the age of 88. She was born June 19, 1933 in Farmington to the late Paul Watts Vaugh and Zella McDaniel. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, T. Dellon Marberry in 1991; a brother Herbert Vaugh; sister-in-law, L. Jessaline Nicholson, brother-in-law, Doyle Nicholson and brother-in-law, Donald Marberry. Evelyn grew up in the Pleasant Hill Community in Ste. Genevieve County. She graduated from Ste. Genevieve High School as Salutatorian. After high school she worked for the phone company as a telephone operator where she worked for many years. In 1960 Evelyn married the love of her life T. Dellon Marberry. They enjoyed farm living, raising cattle and gardening. Evelyn was a stay-at-home mom during her sons growing up years. Later she worked as a coordinator for SMTS in St. Francois County. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting and working in the yard. Evelyn will be most remembered for her strong Christian faith. She was a long time, active member of Pleasant Hill United Baptist Church and Bethel United Baptist Association. Survivors include a son, Mark (Norma) Marberry ; step-grandson, Michael Moser; a sister, Carolyn Horton; sister-in-law, Patricia Marberry and special aunt, Melba Conrad and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends and family may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Friday, February 11 from 6 - 8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m. at Pleasant Hill United Baptist Church with a funeral beginning at 11 a.m. with Pastor Joe Colyott officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to Pleasant Hill United Baptist Church or Bethel United Baptist Association.
