Esther Janet Clarke

FARMINGTON - Esther Janet Clarke of Farmington passed away Friday, January 23, 2015 at the Camelot Nursing & Rehab Center at the age of 102 years, eleven months and thirteen days. She was born February 10, 1912 at Mine La Motte daughter of the late Jonah V. and Martha Elizabeth (Watkins) Clark. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Walter Clarke, brothers Sanford Clark and Daniel Clark, and sisters; Flora Clark, Eliza Combs-Hollinger, Lettie Smith, Lora Gibson, Opal Stephens and Minnie Wrozier. Esther worked for many years as a Seamstress for the Kessler Fur Company. In her spare time she enjoyed flower gardening and she especially enjoyed helping others. She was a long-time and faithful member of the Farmington First Free Will Baptist Church. She is survived by two step-sons, William Walter Clarke Las Vegas, NV Robert Eugene Clarke of Falls Church, VA, two grandsons, two sisters, Josephine Daggett of Portage, MI and Eleanor Allyn of Livingston, TX, a brother Roy Clark of Farmington and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and dear friends. Visitation will be held at the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Thursday, January 29, 2015 from 5-8 p.m Visitation will resume on Friday after 7 a.m. and continue until the time of the service at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel with the Reverend Roger Hogan officiating.
