Emmett Lee Weiss of Casper, Wyoming passed away on January 4, 2011, at the age of 86 years. He was born on July 26, 1924, in Doe Run, son of the late Chris and Flora Steelman Weiss. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Edward and Glenn, a sister, Ester, two grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. Lee was united in marriage on December 18, 1954 in Dead Wood, SD to Carlene Pickett. He was employed as a carpenter for the L.D. Liesinger Company, then by the Welsh Furniture Company. After retirement, he opened his own furniture repair business. Lee enjoyed playing lead guitar and the pedal steel guitar and was a member of the Jim Cox and the Outlaws Band. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He served on the Wardwell Water and Sewer District Board for 21 years. He is survived by his wife, Carlene, a son, Ron Weiss and wife Karen of Casper, WY, a daughter, Sandy and husband Pat of Lakeland, FL, a step-son, Al Shumaker of Reedsport, OR, a step-daughter, Jean Vega of Arlington, TX, 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, a half-brother, Bob Steelman and his wife Carla of Hiland, WY, and a half-sister, Peggy Wilkes of Casper, WY. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 4 at Weiss Cemetery in Doe Run. Local arrangements are under the direction of Cozean Memorial Chapel.
