LANSING, MI - Elsie R. Clark of Lansing, MI formerly of Farmington, went home to her Lord and Savior very peacefully on Friday, October 31, 2014 at the age of 95 years. She was born June 27, 1919 at Farmington daughter of the late John William and Annie Cordelia (Chapman) Barnes. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sons Sanford Roland Clark and Ronald Eugene Clark, grandson Grant Clark, six brothers Leonard Barnes, Clyde Barnes, Willard Barnes, Herschel Barnes, Sterling Barnes and Glenwood Barnes, and five sisters, Edna Huff, Leanna Burgess, Dorothy Potter, Lula Ely, and Edith Burgess. Elsie lived in and around Farmington until 1950 when she moved to Okemos, Michigan. She worked at Michigan State University in the Food Service Department for 29 years. She was a member of the Lansing First Church of the Nazarene, active in her church lovingly doing "missionary" work (rolling bandages from sheets as well as tying off quilts). The bandages were sent to Africa. She supported her church faithfully especially with lots of prayers. Elsie was an encourager to all who knew her, greatly enjoying her family and friends, especially calls and cards she received wishing her well and praying for her. She will missed by all those who knew and loved her including her daughter, Rosetta (& Bill) Walker of Potterville, MI, two daughter-in-laws Bonnie Clark of Lansing, MI, and Judy Clark of Desloge; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren, as well as numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends and neighbors.
