Elnor Ruth Stam

STE. GENEVIEVE CO.- Elnor Ruth Stam of rural Ste. Genevieve County, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at the age of 85 years. She was born September 28, 1928 in Ste. Genevieve County, daughter of the late Charles Elmer and Gerdie Ellen (Carnell) Archambo. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Francis E. Stam, son Richard G. Stam, two grandchildren Travis Stam and Stephanie Stam, two brothers Elmer Lee Archambo and John "Bill" Archambo, two sisters Dorothy Rapert and Shelby Holt, and a son-in-law Thomas R. Harris. Ruth was long-time member of the Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church. She was a proud homemaker and enjoyed cooking, canning, baking, and gardening for her family. She liked to go to and hold yard sales and enjoyed spending time with people in general. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her including her children, Paula G. Harris of Park Hills, Francis "Sonny" (& LeaDonna) Stam of Farmington, Larry (& Joyce) Stam of Farmington, Peggy (& Kirby) Bahr of Bemidji, MN, and Penny (& Joe) Hahl of Farmington, a daughter-in-law Donna Stam of Farmington, three sisters Betty June Gordon of Park Hills, Patricia Ann Peyton of Fredericktown, and Donna Sue Helms of Doniphan, twelve grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives, friends, and neighbors. The family will receive friends at the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. Graveside services will be held at the Chestnut Ridge Cemetery Friday, July 25th at 10 a.m. with Reverend David Wright officiating.
