Ellen Strickland

Ellen Strickland of Farmington passed away, Sunday, November 12, 2006. She was born on February 23, 1962, in St. Louis, the daughter of Donna (Fanning) Friday and the late Robert Sitzes Jr. She was preceded in death by step-father, Dwight Friday; grandparents Lucille Spangler, Raymond Fanning, Beulah and Robert Sitzes Sr; three uncles, Roy and Ralph Sitzes, and Gene Fanning, also an aunt Virginia (Sitzes) Gould She is survived by Billy Stickland, her husband of 23 years, her mother, Donna Friday of Salem, two sisters, Debbie Tucker and husband Bill of DeSoto, Cherry Donnelly and husband Mike, of AR, and a brother, Robert John Sitzes of Park Hills. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and special friends, Margo and Sam King, Maxine Smithwick, and Dale Bussham, and all the Strickland family. Special thanks to the nurses and aides with AmHeart Hospice, and to Dr. Beyer. Ellen enjoyed the outdoors, especially her flowers and riding the tractor. The family will receive friends at the Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, November 14, 2006. Visitation will resume at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, with a funeral service to be held at 10 a.m. at the Cozean Memorial Chapel, with Rev. James Marlar officiating. Burial will follow at Little Vine Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
