Elizabeth Knight

Elizabeth "Betty" Johanna Knight of Farmington passed away on Friday, December 21, 2012, at the age of 94. She was born on April 13, 1918, at Farmington, daughter of Emile and Mamie Marie (Braum) Schramm. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Edwin "Ott" W. Knight in 2006; brothers, Carl Schramm and Leonard Schramm; sisters-in-law, Leola Schramm and Ruth Schramm; and brothers-in-law, Robert Politte, Sr. and Harold Knight. "Betty" as most knew her, was a resident of Farmington all of her life. She was a registered nurse who was employed for many years by the Medical Arts Clinic. Many people would remember her from her role as Dr. Crouch's OB/RN. At the age of 80 Betty retired from nursing and enjoyed many years of retirement. Betty was an accomplished seamstress who also did beautiful needle work. She and Ott enjoyed fishing, vegetable gardening and flowers. Her passion was growing Iris and Day Lilies. She was an active member of both the Mineral Area Iris Society and Day Lily Society. For her entire life she was a faithful and active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Farmington. Survivors include her beloved daughter, Darlene Knight; sisters, Margaret Politte and Dorothy Riemer; a sister-in-law, Jacqueline Knight; nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends. Friends may call at St. Paul Lutheran Church on Saturday, December 29 from 9 to 11 a.m. A funeral service will follow at the Church at 11 a.m. with the Reverend James King officiating. Interment will be at St Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Farmington. Memorials may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Organ Fund or to Farmington Pet Adoption Center.
