Elizabeth 'Betty' Louise Medley

FARMINGTON Elizabeth "Betty" Louise Medley, of Farmington, entered into eternal rest on February 28, 2022, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis at the age of 76. She was born on March 11, 1945, in Ironton, MO to the late George and Margaret (Kertesz) Elser. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Medley and her brother, John Elser. Betty is survived by her sons, Mark (Beth) Medley of Farmington and Brent (Cara Hart) Medley of Farmington, her grandchildren, Chase Medley and Margaret Medley, nephew, John Elser II, nieces, Mary Belken and Julie Berghaus, special family member, Allaina Darnell (niece of Cara), and her special friend, Larry Peterson of Bonne Terre. Betty was a staple for St. Francois County for years. She worked for the county auditor, county collector, as the secretary for the county commission and road and bridge and most recently the Administrator of the Weber Road facility. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She volunteered for many of the churchs fundraisers. She enjoyed being outdoors and her flower gardens. She will be forever fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2022, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Cozean Memorial Chapel. Visitation will resume on Friday, March 4, 2022, from 9:00am until time of Mass at 10:00am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Farmington officiated by Father William Thess. Interment to follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
