Eleanor Dittman

FARMINGTON - Eleanor "Ellie" Dittman passed away Friday, June 26, 2015 at Community Manor at the age of 76. She was born June 28, 1938 in Bonne Terre to the late William Randall Crawford and Alberta Evelyn (Horton) Crawford. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her late husband, Victor Dittman in 1999; a daughter, Melinda Gail Meador; two granddaughters, Carey Lynn Skaggs and Stephanie Moore; one great grandchild and ten brothers and sisters. Ellie grew up in Irondale where her family made their home. She worked in food service at both Southeast Missouri Mental Health and Parkland Health Center. When her five children were young she enjoyed playing softball with them. She also enjoyed bowling, reading and gardening. Her children will remember her most for being a very fun loving, caring and dedicated mother. She will be sorely missed by her children, Diane Wann, Dana Warren, Joel Meador, Jr., and Pamela Jayne (Aaron) Henderson; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two half-sisters, Christine (Scott) Robinson; Laura (Mac) Brown; and her step mother, Patricia Crawford. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 from 5 - 8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Thursday beginning at 7 a.m. until the time of the service at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel.
