PARK HILLS - Edwin Harris Morgan, Jr., CMSgt. (Ret) of Park Hills, passed away on July 7, 2022 at Mercy St. Louis at the age of 76. He was born May 19, 1946 in Scranton, Pennsylvania to the late Edwin H. Morgan, Sr. and Ellen J. (Dunn) Morgan. Following his graduation from Minot High School in Minot, North Dakota, Ed joined the Air Force at the age of 19. During his 30 year tenure, he quickly rose to the rank of Chief Master Sergeant (E-9) at the age of 35. During his active-duty service, Ed held several important positions, including Senior Enlisted Advisor for Minot AFB, serving on the verification team for the INF Treaty with Russia in the 1980s, and Maintenance Superintendent for the ICBM Missile Wing until his retirement in 1995. Soon after retirement, Ed became an accomplished carpenter and cabinet maker. He also enjoyed working part-time as a transporter for railroad crews. He and his wife moved to the Parkland area in 1998 where he continued with cabinetry and carpentry. Some of Eds hobbies included camping, fishing, watching Cardinals baseball, classic cars and spending time with his family. Eds family will always remember his quick wit, keen sense of dry humor, and his broad knowledge and work ethic that he shared with those around him. He was always willing to help anyone who needed support and guidance. Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Mary E. (Caldwell) Morgan, daughter, Brandi (Eric) Burlbaw, son Jesse (Bethany) Morgan; grandchildren, Maggie (James) and Quinn, and a grandson due in December; twin brothers, Donald (Molly) Morgan and David (Karen) Morgan; sister, Cathy (Steve) Jumonville; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family. Also surviving is his special canine companion, Ethel. Private Interment will be held at a later date.
