Edwin "Dale" Bayless

KNOB LICK Dale Bayless, of Knob Lick, passed away on August 11, 2016 at his residence at the age of 78. He was born in Knob Lick on November 24, 1937 to the late Robert Lee Bayless and Alma Ruby (Jensen) Bayless.

Dale was a life long resident of Knob Lick having worked as an electrician for many years, both with St. Joe Lead and Southeast Missouri Mental Health Center from where he retired. He was a 50 year member of the Libertyville Masonic Lodge and a 35 year member of the Mineral Area Community Elks Lodge. Dale was a life long farmer who enjoyed raising sheep and goats. In earlier years he enjoyed raising and riding horses. He also trained Border Collies for herding. He especially was partial to his first dog, Penny. Dale will be remembered as truly enjoying the country life.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Minnie Ann (Payne) Bayless; son, Randall Dale Bayless; two grandsons, Kennith Dale Bayless and Robert Wayne Bayless and their mother, Sandy Pritchard; a sister, Patricia Pirtle and husband, Barty; brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws and numerous other extended family.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 15, 2016 at 1 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Rev. Donn Adamson officiating. Interment will follow at Knob Lick Cemetery.
