Edward Lawrence Keith

July 30, 1931 — May 26, 2015

Edward Lawrence Keith, of Bismarck, passed away May 26, 2015 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis at the age of 83. He was born July 30, 1931 in Ironton to the late Andrew J. Keith and Bernettie Nelson Keith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Rick Keith, Sr.; a daughter, Diana Keith; one grandson, Rick Keith, Jr.; four brothers, Wilbur, Willard, Leo and Delmar Keith and two sisters, Margaret Moon and Mildred Eschmann. Edward grew up in Ironton, later moving to various towns in the Lead Belt area. In the early 1950's he proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a life time member of the VFW; a member of the American Legion, Tyro Masonic Lodge #12 of Caledonia and belonged to the St. Louis Shrine. An avid outdoors man, he enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing. He settled in Bismarck several years back where he enjoyed living on his farm. Edward worked his whole adult life in construction having taken great pride in being a member of the Labor Union of Farmington. His greatest love was his family and spending time with them. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Pauline; children, Debra (Randy) Sellinger of Albers, IL, Michael Keith, Sr. of Arcadia, MO, Sandra Keith of Desloge, MO, Jeannie (Coby) Bray of Bismarck, MO; Paulina, Caitlin and Travis Keith, all of the home; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family. Visitation will be held at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Monday, June 1 from 5 - 8 p.m. with visitation resuming Tuesday morning at 7 a.m. until the time of the service beginning at 1 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel.
