FARMINGTON Edith Elizabeth (Starnes) Huff, of Farmington, passed away on January 18, 2021 at Camelot Nursing Home at the age of 93. She was born on December 30, 1927, in Hickory, North Carolina to the late P.M. Starnes and Ollie Naomi (Bowman) Starnes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, John C. Huff, her son, Jerry L. Huff, her daughter in law, Debbie Huff, eight brothers, Horace Starnes, Russell Starnes, Vernon Starnes, Kermit Starnes, Sr., Bruce Starnes,, Sr., Orville Starnes, Thomas Starnes, Sr., and one infant brother, six sisters, Clara Starnes, Lois V. Dunham, Lucille Starnes, Evelyn Schuster, Alma Lee Starnes, and Inez Crites. Edith is survived by her son, Terry Huff, two granddaughters, Stephanie (Kurt) Anliker and Kym (Mark) Siegfried, four great grandchildren, Cameron, Sophia, Oliver and Kennedy, one brother, Wayman (Sue) Starnes, sisters in law, Shirley Starnes and Mary Huff, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and special friend to the family, Hilda Bellew. Edith was a former volleyball player during her high school days, and her volleyball team went undefeated her senior year. During Edith and John's marriage, their number one pastime was attending basketball, volleyball, football and baseball games. They were known area wide and made many special friends at almost every school. Edith owned her own beauty shop and was a hairdresser for over 50 years. She was also an avid bowler. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
