E. Lloyd Murphy

E. Lloyd Murphy, of Farmington passed away at home on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 under the loving care of his family and Mercy Hospice of Festus. He was 76 years old and was born on June 16, 1937, at Farmington, son of the late Lehman Frederick and Mary Kate (Sherlock) Murphy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, JoAnn (Murphy) McKinney and two step-grandsons. Lloyd was a life long resident of Farmington and had worked both as a iron worker and a butcher. He married Patricia Ann Martin on February 19, 1976, who survives. In his spare time Lloyd loved bass fishing. He was a faithful member of First Freewill Baptist Church of Farmington. In addition to his wife, Lloyd is survived by his children, Conie Rae (Murphy) Bell and husband Danny, Stanley Earl Murphy and wife, Vicki, Cheryl Lee (Murphy) Perez and husband, Victor, Carrie Jayne Murphy and her companion, Al, and Jackie Lynn (Murphy) Perez and husband, Miguel; step-children, Michael S. Chester, Jayne Ann (Chester) Voyles and Deana Lea (Zolman) Foreman and husband, Keith; two brothers, Frederick Lee Murphy and wife, Alice and Clarence Edward Murphy and wife, Helen; two sisters, Jean Marilyn (Murphy) Collier and Paula Sue (Murphy) Weems and husband, Dennis; eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous extended family and many good friends. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Thursday, April 17 from 5 to 8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Friday morning beginning at 7 a.m. until the service at 11 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Pastor Roger Hogan officiating. Interment will be at Hillview Memorial Gardens in Farmington. Memorials may be made to the First Freewill Baptist Church of Farmington.
