Duane G. Mckinney

Duane G. McKinney of Desloge passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2008 at his residence at the age of 60 years. He was born on April 10, 1948, in Farmington, the son of the late James Otis and Nellie Irene (Owens) McKinney. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Doug and Donald McKinney. Mr. McKinney was a member of the Victory Worship Center of Desloge. He served his country in the U. S. Army in the Vietnam War. Duane was a Lifetime Member of the Norman L. Rigdon VFW Post 5896 and a member of the American Legion Post 413. He is survived by his wife, Cherril Lee (Woodruff) McKinney, two step-daughters, Sarah and husband Shawn Maurer of Farmington and Megan and husband Richard Sherman of Leadwood, a step-son, Robert Patterson of Desloge, a brother, Bob McKinney and wife Pat of Farmington, two daughters and three grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. The family will receive friends at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, October 8, 2008. Visitation will resume at 7 a.m. on Thursday with a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Ron Jones officiating. Burial with Full Military Honors will be at Knights of Pythias Cemetery in Farmington. Memorials may be given to the Victory Worship Center.
