Dr. Shelley S. Lee

FARMINGTON Dr. Shelley Lynne Lee, of Farmington, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the age of 65. She was born April 9, 1951 in Berryville, Arkansas to the late Corbett and Mary (Pettigrew) Smith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jana Lynne (Lee) Min.

Dr. Lee will be most remembered for welcoming thousands of babies into the world and she healed thousands more with her medical knowledge and skills. She was a friend and adviser to countless people. She was an educator and counselor to many. She was always "others first" and "self last". Above all else, she was a great mother and raised two of the kindest girls to those of us fortunate enough to have known them. A little bit of Dr. Shelley Smith Lee will live on inside each and every one of us fortunate enough to have known her. The world truly was a little better because of what she had done.

Her warm heart shines through in her surviving daughter, Stacy (Mrs. Scott) Beard and her smile can be found on her two granddaughters, Heather and Maggie Beard. She also leaves behind her two brothers, Norman Dale (Naomi) Smith and Byron David (Marilyn) Smith; two nieces, Kristin (Matt) Wallace and Tammie (Adam) Kneisel; two nephews, Todd Smith and Eric Smith; and son-in-law, Steve (Jill) Min. Also surviving are extended family, countless friends, colleagues and patients.

Visitation will be held at Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 from 5 8 p.m. Visitation will resume Thursday morning at 7 a.m. until the memorial service beginning at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Reverend Rocky Good officiating. Interment will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens in Farmington. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
