Jana L. Min, of Lakeshore Park Place, Marquette, passed away at the age of 36, Thursday morning, August 10, 2006, at Marquette General Hospital, following a year-long illness. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Corbett and Mary Smith and paternal grandparents, Ed and Georgia Carlile. Dr. Min was born on May 13, 1970, at Tulsa, OK, to Carl and Shelley (Smith) Lee. A 1988 graduate of Tahlequah Oklahoma High School, she then attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, graduating from there in 1993. Jana also attended Oklahoma State University in Tulsa, receiving a degree as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine in 1997. She served her residency at Pontiac, MI. Jana was engaged in Family Practice medicine at Farmington, and on May 31, 1997, she married Dr. Steve Min at St. Pauls Lutheran Church. The Mins moved to Marquette in January of 2002 from Rochester Hills, MI, where Jana became involved as a volunteer for Beacon House in Marquette. She is survived by her husband, Steve Min, DO, of Marquette, her mother, Shelley S. Lee, DO of Farmington, her father, Carl (Rhonda) Lee of Tahlequah, OK, and by a sister, Stacy (Scott) Beard of Farmington, a step-brother, Carl Ferguson, Jr. and a step-sister, September Ferguson, both of Tahlequah, OK. Several nieces and nephews as well as other family and friends also survive. The family will receive friends at the Cozean Memorial Chapel, Tuesday, August 15, from 5 to 8 p.m. Visitation will resume Wednesday at 7:30 a.m. with a funeral service following at 10 a.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to Beacon House, or Marquette General Foundation to benefit the Cancer Center.
