FARMINGTON - Dorothy M. Womack of Farmington, passed away surrounded by her family at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis on October 16, 2015 at the age of 80. She was born July 14, 1935 to the late Harvey Boyd and Verna (McDaniel) Barr. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, James E. Womack; her daughter, Dawn Womack; and her granddaughter, Katie Womack. A life long resident of the Farmington area, Dorothy was always active in community activities involving her children. She was a former girl scout leader, involved in 4-H club and active in the Farmington Downtown Organization. For many years she owned the Fashion Cove ladies clothing store. She was a faithful, long time member of Memorial United Methodist Church where she was a member of UMW. She enjoyed Stan Murphy's Sunday School class and the good company of her close friends, Lois Rhodes and Anita Patt. Throughout her life Dorothy enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and horses. Her family will fondly remember the many years of the annual wiener roast she hosted at the family farm. Survivors include her three children, Nancy (Terry) Medley, James (Christina) Womack and David (Marlene) Womack, Sr.; six grandchildren, Patrick Medley, James Medley, Craig Medley, Sarah Womack, David Womack, Jr. and Shelley Womack; five great grandchildren, Chloe, Tanner, Carmen, Avery and Caelyn; many good friends and extended family. A memorial gathering of friends and family will be held on Wednesday, October 21 from 4 - 8 p.m. at Cozean Memorial Chapel. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Shriner's Hospital or Memorial United Methodist Church Growing Room Preschool.
