Dorothy P. Moranville

FARMINGTON - Dorothy (Fowler) Moranville of Farmington, passed away at Presbyterian Manor on June 21, 2022, at the age of 101. She was born March 21, 1921, in Desloge to the late Andrew Fowler and Mary (Hunt) Fowler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Glen Turner and her second husband, Francis Moranville; sisters, Irene Leonard, Bertha Drennon, Gertrude Boyle and Florence Laws; and a brother, Andy Fowler. Dorothy was a lifelong resident of the area and a 1939 graduate of Desloge high school. She worked most of her life as a secretary/bookkeeper having spent many years with Missouri Natural Gas Company. After she retired, she volunteered for Parkland Health Care Gift Shop, the Food Pantry and Presbyterian Manors gift shop and bingo. Dorothy was a long-time member of Memorial United Methodist Church where she was active in the Methodist Womens Guild and later United Methodist Women. She also was a member of the 55 plus Sunday School Class, the Ozark Association for the Blind for which she served as treasurer for 40 plus years, AARP and 55 Plus Club of which she was past president. Having an outgoing personality, Dorothy loved socializing and had many friends who she enjoyed getting together with. She loved traveling and going out to eat. She always looked forward to her birthday parties every year. Survivors include many nieces and nephews and good friends. Visitation will be held at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Monday, June 27, 2022, from 4 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 28 beginning at 11 a.m. at Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Ron Beaton officiating. Interment will follow at St. Francois Memorial Park in Bonne Terre.
