Dorothy Boyd of Farmington passed away on March 7, 2007, at St. Johns Skilled Nursing Facility, at the age of 87 years. She was born on January 28, 1920, in Perry County, the daughter of the late James C. and Edith (Martin) Head. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Boyd, a son, Neil Boyd, two sisters, Ruby Bloom and Ethel Head, and two brothers, Larry Head and Delmar Head. She is survived by a son, David Boyd of Ste. Genevieve, two daughters, Sherry Ragsdale (Rick) and Nancy Hicks, all of Farmington, three sisters, Alma Winch of Coffman, June Stone (Nelson) of Jackson, MO, and Jean Jenkerson (Arthur) of Farmington, a sister-in-law, Harriet Kincaid of Libertyville, brother-in-law, Benton Bloom, of Farmington, four grandchildren, Heather Ragsdale, Holly Makarkan (Alexei), Jeremy Boyd, Sarah Nash (John), and a great-grandson, Aidan Makarkan. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. Friends may call at the Cozean Memorial Chapel from 4:30 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2007. Visitation will resume at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, with a funeral service at 10 a.m. at the Cozean Chapel. Burial will follow at Mayberry Cemetery in Avon. Memorials may be directed to Old Pine Log Church.
