Dorothy Kretzschmar

July 19, 1915 — February 12, 2011

Dorothy Clara (Kiebach) Kretzschmar of Farmington, alive in Jesus February 12, 2011 at the age of 95 years, 6 months, and 23 days. She was born July 19, 1915, at Rock County, MN, daughter of the late George and Alma (Schaefer) Kiebach. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Theophil Ted Kretzschmar, two brothers, Walter and Herbert Kiebach, two sisters, Marie Kiebach and Irma Reynolds, and a dear son-in-law, Rodney Dierking. Dorothy spent most of her life in Minnesota where she owned and operated her own beauty shop for several years, later leaving that to raise her family. While in Minnesota Dorothy was very active in her church and community. After the death of her husband she moved to the Parkland Area where she became active with St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Bonne Terre, St. Paul Lutheran in Farmington, and Trinity Lutheran in Park Hills where her current membership was and was also a member of Lutheran Womens Missionary League. Besides her church activities she was a member of the Bonne Terre Garden Club, and participated in the Art-is-Ageless competition sponsored by the Presbyterian Manor where she had resided for the past six years. Dorothy will be missed by all those who knew and loved her, which includes a son, Gene (Janet) Kretzschmar of Minneapolis, MN, a daughter, Barbara Dierking of Terre Du Lac, a sister, Luella Kiebach of Minneapolis, MN, six grandchildren: John, Mark (Katherine), Daniel, and Ellen Kretzschmar, and Nathan (Elizabeth) and Timothy (Emily) Dierking, three great-grandchildren, Abigail, Samuel, and Emily and two soon-to-be twin great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on March 26, 2011 at the Hillcrest Care Center in Wayzata, MN. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery at Fairmont, MN. Memorials may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Bonne Terre, Bethesda Lutheran Home of Watertown, WI, and Lutheran Bible Translators of Aurora, IL (lbt.org).
