FARMINGTON Doris E. (Clayborne) Denison, 92, of Farmington, MO, was called home by her Savior on Friday, September 22, 2023. She was born in Esther, MO, on January 9, 1931, to William and Beatrice (Weible) Clayborne. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 62 years, Markus Denison, her daughter, Glenda Skiles, sons-in-law, Robert Skiles and Michael Wilcox, her great granddaughter, Sara Skiles, as well as her two sisters, Betty Smith, and Faye Telle, and five half-sisters, Susie Dotson, Wilma Black, Nina Kennon, Mary Kennon, and Virginia Johnson. She is survived by her brother, Robert (Judy) Clayborne, son, Kenneth (Janet) Denison, three daughters, Bonnie Wilcox, Diana (Dennis) Westover, and Deborah (Jay) Jennings, as well as 15 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Doris enjoyed her family of faith at the Church of the Open Bible and expressed her love for Christ by constantly helping others. She will be remembered for her selflessness and always putting others first. Volunteering at "Dress to Impress" was her most recent way of doing that. Her home was always the gathering place for family and friends. She spent her happiest hours swinging on her front porch, enjoying her family crowded around her. She also loved visiting the families of the Mennonite community. Over the years, Doris cared for many children in her home and considered each of them part of her family. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, from 9:30am until time of service at 11:00am at Cozean Memorial Chapel officiated by Pastor Donna Cooper. Interment to follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that any donations be made to the Church of the Open Bible, 201 South Henry Street, Farmington, MO 63640, Help the Hungry, c/o Becky Panchot, 4055 Westover Road, Bonne Terre, MO 63628, or Hope 4 Autism, c/o Dress to Impress, 117 East Columbia Street, Farmington, MO 63640.
