Donna R. Friday

SALEM Donna Rae Friday, of Salem, Missouri, formerly of Delassus, passed away May 19, 2016 at University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. She was born December 27, 1936 in St. Louis, to Raymond and Lucille Fanning. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Janet Fanning and one brother Gene Fanning, a daughter, Ellen Strickland; her first husband, Robert Sitzes and second husband, Dwight Friday.

Before her disability, Donna worked many years at Farmington Community Hospital as a nurse aid. An avid reader, she was also a homemaker who loved to cook, work word puzzles, watch the hummingbirds and deer. She enjoyed her cats and watching "action" shows on television. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include two daughters, Debbie (Bill Sr.) Tucker of DeSoto; Cherry Donnelly (Mike) of Mena, AR, and one son, Robert (Cathy) Sitzes of Farmington, MO; her boyfriend of 17 years, Dale Bassham of Salem; five grandchildren, Kim (Johnny) Mayberry of Bonne Terre, Bill (Janel) Tucker, Jr. of Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota; Jennifer Iahn of Park Hills; Marie (Codie) Umfleet of Farmington and Tyler Tucker of Desloge; seven great-grandchildren, Ellie, Corinne, Natalie, Clarissa, Katie, Jennifer and Wyatt; and five great-great grandchildren, Anna, Austin, Tyler, Allisa and Duncan. Also, Danielle (Mark) Willford, Andera (Ricky) Lockwood, Joel Meador, Caleb, Camellia, Zeke and Aurora. Donna will also be missed by many other family and friends.
