Donna Lee Cobb

Donna Lee Cobb of Farmington passed away on Monday, August 6, 2012, at the age of 72 at Southbrook Skilled Nursing Center. She was born on November 6, 1939, at Chicago, IL, daughter of the late John and Matilda (Hoekstra) Doughty. Donna grew up in Chicago as an only child. She graduated from South Shore High in Chicago in 1956. On July 6, 1964 she married the love of her life, George Cobb. In 1972 they moved out of the city to Farmington to raise their family in her father's home town. After her children were grown she pursued a degree in nursing at Mineral Area College. She worked in the State Hospital for more than fifteen years and then went on to work at Country Meadows Nursing Home in Park Hills until her retirement. In her spare time, Donna loved handwork such as cross-stitch, tatting and knitting. She loved her many animals and is survived by her favorite canine, Mac. Survivors include her beloved husband, George; two sons, Jim Cobb and wife, Sharon of Carbon Hill, AL and Jeff Cobb and wife, Lynda of Herrin, IL; two grandchildren, Michael Cobb of Tulsa, OK and Hayley Cobb of Herrin, IL; her special "daughter", Tammy Zolman and a host of other extended family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 9 at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Memorial Chapel with Pastor Darryl Rhodes officiating. Memorials may be made to the Farmington Pet Adoption Center.
