Donald Woods

Donald Lee Woods, 75, of New Madrid, formerly of Farmington, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2014, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, MO. He was born on July 22, 1938 in Farmington, MO to the late Effie Hoehn and Luther Woods. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Louise Pritchett, Lucille Wright, and Laverne Morris. He was a Mason and a member of the Eagle Aerie #4206. He had worked at Pilot Knob Mines in Pilot Knob when younger, then went on to work for Noranda Aluminum in New Madrid and worked there for 20 years until his retirement in 2005. On December 10, 1988, he was married to Diane Mansfield Woods, who survives, of the home. He is survived by his loving wife Diane Mansfield Woods, five children, Angie (Ed) Politte and Cynthia (Brian) Pogue, both of Farmington, Jeanine (Steve) Arcipowski, of St. Louis, Jeff (Eva) Mansfield of Batavia, OH, and Mara (Clynt) Scheffler of Forest City, NC; one brother, Richard (Sandy) Woods of St. Charles, MO; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 5 - 8 p.m. Friday night at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid. Local arrangements are under the care and direction of Cozean Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be held at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Saturday, May 17 from 12 noon to 2 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Reverend David Wright officiating.
