Donald Lee "Don" Williams of Womack passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at Southbrook Skilled Nursing Center, at the age of 76 years, 8 months, and 4 days. He was born on February 23, 1934, at Womack, the son of the late Clyde Avery and Florence Eveline (Hawthorn) Williams. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by an infant brother, Clyde, Jr and a son-in-law, Donnie Nielsen in August of 2010. Don was a lifelong resident of the Womack area. He was employed with the Missouri Highway Department for twenty-six years, retiring in 1994. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed being in the outdoors and farming. He loved telling his childhood stories to his kids and grandkids so they could pass them on. Don had a great sense of humor and was the ultimate tease. He was a very faithful member of the Silver Point Union Church and took an active role for many years there. His friends and neighbors will always remember Don for his kindness and generosity. Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Carol (Burnau) Williams; four children, Stephen C. Williams and his wife Brenda, Karen (Mrs. George) Killian, and Vickie Lynn Nielsen, all of Womack and Michael Williams and his wife, Pamela of Farmington; seven grandchildren, David Miller (Lavonna), Deaven and Stwirt Williams, Brittany Watson (Barry) and Tiffany Nielsen, Adam Wells (Beth) and Amy Cisneros; nine great-grandchildren, Tallie, Orry, Talon, Ryker, Riley, Sydney, Addison, Alyssa and Gracie; four sisters, Mary (Mrs. Frederick) Steffan, Madge Clifton, Sue (Mrs. Dale) Rouse and Monica (Mrs. Alfred) Coffey all of Womack and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5 to 9 pm Friday, October 29, 2010. Visitation will resume Saturday from 7 a.m. until the time of the service beginning at 2 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Pastor Mike Haney officiating. Interment will follow at Silver Point Union Church Cemetery in Womack. Memorials may be made to the Silver Point Union Cemetery Fund.
