Donald Frank Dixon

Donald Frank Dixon of French Village passed away on Monday, October 8, 2012, at the age of 73. He was born on October 7, 1939, at Bonne Terre, son of the late Robert and Lela Mae (Boyer) Dixon. Donald served in the United States Air Force from 1957 to 1960. He retired from the Doe Run Company where he worked as a Shift General Foreman at the Herculaneum Smelter for 27 years. Donald was a kind and gentle man that enjoyed his family, friends, nature, gardening and fixing things. He attended New Heights Church. He will be dearly missed. Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Mary Ann Harding Dixon; son, Brian Dixon and wife Paula; stepson, John C. Harding and wife Crystal; a brother, Homer Dixon and wife Jeannie; a sister, Janet Day and husband, Ewell; grandchildren, William, Megan Ann, and Madison Harding, Blake Dixon and Heather Mosier. He also leaves special friends, Kathy Hammond and Robert Nash, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Thursday, October 11, from 5 to 8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Friday morning beginning at 7 a.m. until the service at 10:30 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Reverend Beth Duckworth officiating with Chaplain Jacob Pollard assisting. Interment will follow at Adams Hillcrest Cemetery in Bonne Terre. Memorials may be made to the Farmington Pet Adoption Center.
