COFFMAN Reverend Donald Edward McGuire of Coffman passed away June 27, 2018 at his daughter's home in Weldon Springs at the age of 86. He was born September 26, 1931 to the late William and Edith (Shinn) McGuire. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first love and wife, Beverly Jane (Allen) McGuire and his soul mate and wife, Wilma Eck Gegg McGuire, as well as his brother, Dennis McGuire, and his grandson, Malachi McGuire.
Donald was a long time pastor at the First Baptist Church of Steelville, the First Baptist Church of Kennett and other various churches throughout the country. He was a man of strong Christian faith and spent his life ministering to others in the churches and communities where he served. Donald was nonjudgmental and very accepting of everyone for who they were. He proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Air Force. Donald was an active member and 32nd degree Mason of the Masonic Lodge of Farmington. During retirement, he enjoyed golfing, fishing, woodworking and being a cattleman on the farm. After all those years saving the "lost sheep", turns out he was a cattleman.
Survivors include his children, Richard McGuire of Steelville, Bruce (Brenda) McGuire of Columbia, Jennifer (Jon) Onesty of Weldon Springs, Linda (Michael) Hagan of Coffman, and Jackie (Kevin Godwin) Smith of Farmington, grandchildren, Angela McGuire, Waylon (Emily) McGuire, Emily McGuire, Rachel (Leo) McGuire Vailati, Jessica McGuire, Tanner May, Matthew Gegg, Cole (Jenna) Smith, and Jody (Rob) Hahn,, as well as his siblings, Eileen Murphy of Bonne Terre, Patrick (Kim)McGuire of Kearney and Michelle Northcutt of Farmington, numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Friends may call on Monday, July 2 at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Farmington, 210 North A Street, Farmington, MO. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
