Donald 'Donnie' Eugene Simms

FARMINGTON Donald "Donnie" Eugene Simms, of Farmington, entered into eternal rest on May 14, 2022, at Barnes Jewish Hospital at the age of 61. He was born on November 24, 1960, in Bonne Terre to Ronald Eugene and Eva Jane (Harrington) Simms. He was preceded in death by his father, his grandparents, Harold and Elizabeth "Joyce" (Laws) Simms and James and Beulah Harrington, his father- in- law, Ernie Richey and his brother-in-law, Johnnie Richey. In addition to his mother, Donnie is survived by his wife of 14 years, Kerri (Richey) Simms, his children, Kelsey (Richie) Gay, Justin (Candice Robinson) Simms, Tara (Eric) Lane, Jordan (Ariel) Simms, and Jesse (Afton) Simms, his grandchildren, Chloe, Chandler, Aiden, Erikson, Levi, Owen, Gideon, Adley, and Baby Lane, siblings, Denita (Gary Hahn) King and Dana (Pat) Pritchett, his godmother, Betty Jo Winter, his mother in law, Joyce Richey, along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, his bowling and softball families. Donnie was a faithful member of New Beginnings Worship Centre and served on the Board. He was an avid softball and baseball umpire for MSHSAA for many years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge Post 2583 of Desloge and the Missouri Professional Land Surveyors Association. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and bowling with Kerri on Split Happens bowling team but mostly he loved spending time with his grandbabies. He will be forever remembered as being kind, giving, and unselfish. Donnie will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, from 4:00pm until time of service at 7:00pm at New Beginnings Worship Centre, 4665 Highway O, Farmington, MO officiated by Reverend Tim Morgan and Pastor Randy Gray.
