Donald Compton

FARMINGTON Donald Ray Compton of Farmington passed away, Tuesday July 18, 2017 at his home in Farmington at the age of 60 years. He was born on December 28, 1956 at Bonne Terre the son of Dorothy Sue (McWilliams) Compton and the late Darwin Gerald Compton. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by two brothers, Terry Compton and Michael Compton.

Donald was a long-time member of the Elvins First Baptist Church of Park Hills and was recently retired from the Doe Run Company where he had been employed for over 30 years. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and caring for his yard, but his greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family.

He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him including his wife Nancy Lea (McFarland) Compton of Farmington, his mother Dottie Compton of Esther, two daughters Michelle (& Darren) Gray of Farmington and Crystal Wallace of St. Charles, three granddaughters, Lilly Wallace and Ella & Anna Gray, a brother Kieth (& Lisa) Compton of Esther and numerous other relatives, dear friends, and neighbors.

A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, July 21, 2017 from 5-8 p.m. at the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday with the Reverend Lanny McFarland officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
