Denise Marie Ratcliff

Denise Marie (Heberlie) Ratcliff, age 47, died on Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at her home in St. James, Missouri. She was born on September 17, 1970, in Perryville, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her aunt Lulu (Louise Herman), grandfather Herman (Buddy) Heberlie, Grandparents-Wilfred and Marie (Zoellner) Wibbenmeyer and Father-in-law, Charles Ratcliff.

Denise married the love of her life, Scot Ratcliff on May 31, 1997 and they have four children together: Justin (Brittney) ONeal, Colleen (Andrew) Braun, Ethan Ratcliff and Isaac Ratcliff. She also has three beautiful grandchildren: Isabella ONeal, Layne ONeal and Tommi Marie Braun.

Denise began her career as a teacher upon graduating from Central Methodist University. After a few short years teaching she returned to college at SEMO where she earned her Masters Degree in School Counseling. She began her counseling career at South Elementary, in Jackson, Missouri, and continued her work for the St. James school district for the past 6 years. Denise was passionate about her role as an educator and mentor to her students.

In addition to her husband and children, Denise is survived by her parents, Stanley and Joyce (Wibbenmeyer) Heberlie, four brothers, Keith (Kimberly) Heberlie, Daniel (Kristy) Heberlie, Curt (Lynette) Heberlie, Jason (Amanda) Heberlie, Grandmother, Mary T. Heberlie, Mother-in-law, Jody Ratcliff, her God parents, Aunt Diane and Uncle Clinton. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family.

Denise was a daughter, wife, mother, sister, mimi and aunt. These things did not define hershe defined them. She was so much to so many. Our love for her is so great and she will be missed by all that knew her.

Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel in Farmington, Missouri, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 with a Holy Rosary service at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Josephs Catholic Church, 10 N. Long St., Farmington, Missouri on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a graveside service at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church Cemetery, 23504 State Route WW, Coffman, Missouri.
