Delores June Vessell

Delores "DoDee" June Vessell, of Chesterfield, formerly of Farmington, passed away November 3, 2012 in Chesterfield at the age of 75. She was born in St. Louis May 18, 1937 to the late Manuel and Blue Bell Wisdom. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Karrel, Jerry and Larry Wisdom, Karrel's wife, Jackie Wisdom and her former husband, Nelson Vessell. DoDee was raised in Kimmswick, Missouri where she grew to love the Mississipppi River. She spoke often of visiting with Mr. Anheuser at his horse property on the river's edge. She attended Herculaneum High School where she was a cheerleader and was a member of the track team. She was married to Nelson H. Vessell on January 16, 1959. DoDee was employed at the Farmington High School Library and at Mutual of Omaha. In her spare time she enjoyed bowling, golfing, boating watching movies, music and camping. More than anything DoDee loved the time spent with family and friends. Survivors include her children, Michael P. Vessell of Chesterfield and Kathy L. Pechanec of Houston, TX; five grandchildren, Sarah K. Vessell, Julia L. Vessell, Michael P. Pechanec, William H. Pechanec and Penny R. Pechanec; one brother, Gerald Wisdom and wife, Suzie and a sisiter, Joyce Nuckolls all of Farmington. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Wednesday, November 7 at 10 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Chaplain Mindy Kiepe officiating. Interment will be held at Hillview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to TIP Hospice or American Lung Association.
