Delmar Lee Rector

Delmar Lee Rector of Doe Run passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2012, at the age of 76. He was born on March 14, 1936, at Weingarten son of the late Elmer and Mary (Thomure) Rector. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his former wife, Barbara (Pigg) Rector, a sister, Eugenia Merritt, two brothers, William Rector and Thomas Rector, two grandsons, Christopher and Justin Rector and his mother-in-law, Mary Roberts. Delmar worked most of his adult life in construction as a "Powder Monkey". After retirement he enjoyed spending time with his many beloved grandkids. Survivors include his twelve children, Jerry (Pam) Rector, Brenda (Paul) Stone and Kelly Schmid all of Park Hills, Mary Rector, Steve Rector, Tammy (Warren) Sansoucie, Debbie Noll and Delmar Rector, Jr. all of Doe Run, Alvin (Rose) Rector of Springfield, Richard (Bev) Rector of Leadington, Vicky (Tim) Zahn of Davenport, IA, and Randy (Bev) Rector of Farmington. He has 28 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and a very special cousin, Ronald Hammers. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Wednesday from 5 to 9 pm. Visitation will resume on Thursday morning beginning at 7 a.m. until the service in the Cozean Chapel beginning at 11 a.m. with Rev. Darryl Rhodes officiating.
