FARMINGTON David Francis Nichols of Farmington passed away Monday, February 22, 2016 at his residence in Farmington. He was born on November 23, 1941 in St. Louis son of the late Francis R. and Muriel E. (Goudy) Nichols. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Paul Nichols and a sister Laura McClary.
David was retired from General Motors Corporation where he had worked as an assembler at the Wentzville plant for nearly 38 years and was a member of the UAW Local 2250. David enjoyed turkey and deer hunting but most especially enjoyed practicing and instructing Martial Arts which he had done for over 55 years and had attained the 8th Degree in Shorin Ryu.
He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him including his wife Paulette (Spiekermann) Nichols of Farmington, two daughters Kristine (& Dana) Ard of Farmington and Colleen Nichols of Farmington, eight grandchildren, Danielle Ard, David Ard, Michael Nichols, Katherine Nichols, Alicia Nichols, Kristopher Nichols, Hayden Nichols, and Mikayla Nichols. A nephew, several nieces, other relatives and numerous dear friends and neighbors also survive.
Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, February 26, 2016 at the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory. A chapel service will follow the visitation at 7 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel. Interment will be at Hillview Memorial Gardens in Farmington at a later date. Memorials, if desired, may be made to Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital and Serenity Hospice Care.
