David Larry Raymer

FARMINGTON David Larry Raymer of Farmington passed into his Heavenly home on February 14, 2024, at Southbrook Nursing Center at the age of 78. He was born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on October 4, 1945, to the late Palistine Thomas Raymer and Eva (Larrison) Raymer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother in infancy and a brother Paul Raymer. David was well known in the Farmington area, having been a member of the Citys fire department and later the Farmington Police Department where he attained the rank of Corporal. He was an active member of the Farmington Masonic Lodge, the International Order of the Odd Fellows and a member of New Beginnings Church. He was an avid Cardinal baseball fan and a NASCAR racing fan as well. He is survived by his daughter Stacy (Terry) Leach of Park Hills and his son, Jeff Raymer of Farmington; granddaughter, Katelyn (Levi) Grigg and a great grandchild on the way. He is also survived by his wife, Sue (Tibbitts) Raymer and her daughter, Tina Gaston; his siblings, Lloyd Raymer and Rose Louer; nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. There will be a visitation on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Cozean Memorial Chapel beginning at 11 a.m. At 1 p.m. there will be ceremonies to honor David by the Ozark Fire Fighters Association. Also the Farmington Police Department Color Guard will be standing vigil at the visitation. Funeral Services will begin at 2 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Rev. Tim Morgan officiating. Also speaking at the funeral on behalf of David will be Chief Chris Bullock and Chief David Pratte. Interment will follow at Masonic Cemetery in Farmington. Memorials, if desired, may be made in care of the funeral home to the American Diabetes Association or to St. Francois County Back Stoppers.
