Darrell Dewayne Mcdaniel

FARMINGTON Darrell McDaniel, of Farmington, passed away June 29, 2017 at Community Manor in Farmington at the age of 72. He was born December 27, 1944 in Farmington to the late Calvin C. McDaniel and Mary (Wooldridge) McDaniel.

Darrell graduated from ILLMO-Scott City High School in 1963. He went on to enlist in the military where he proudly served his country in the U. S. Air Force from August of 1963 until June of 1967 primarily working as a radio operator. He also served three years in Germany in the Air Force Security Service. He attended Southeast Missouri State University where he obtained a B.S. in Business Administration in December of 1972. After several years working for the U. S. Postal Department, Darrell went to work for the Department of Veterans Affairs where he was an Adjudication Specialist from 1973 until his retirement in 2001. After having lived in St. Louis and the state of Nevada, Darrell came back to Farmington in 2011 where he would be closer to family.

Survivors include a sister, Vivian (Jim) Stephens of Florence, Kentucky; two brothers, Joseph McDaniel of the state of Florida and James C. (Clara) Triplett of Farmington; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

A graveside service with military honors will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Ste. Genevieve County at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Art Menard officiating. View the online obituary and share your memories and condolences at cozeanfuneralhome.com.
