Danny C. Deer

FARMINGTON - Danny C. Deer, of Farmington, passed away on December 14, 2022 at his home at the age of 73. He was born December 19, 1948 in Marshall, Missouri to the late Ernest V. Deer and Ruth Marie (Talbott) Deer. Danny was a 1967 graduate of Marshall High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1968 where he proudly served for four years. He later attended State Fair Community College in Marshall and Washington School of Practical Nursing where he received his LPN diploma. Early in Danny's career he worked as Developmental Assistant for the Missouri State Hospital in Marshall and in Kirksville. While in Kirksville he met and married the love of his life, Lori Davis. Danny was employed throughout the years at several nursing homes and currently was working for KPH Health Direct in Farmington. Danny was a huge Chiefs fan, an NRA benefactor and life member, as well as a 2nd Amendment advocate. Grilling and cooking was one of his favorite pastimes. Danny loved his church, Trinity Lutheran Church in Park Hills, where he served as an Elder. His family will remember his caring and compassionate nature and great love for his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Lori Deer; two children, William Deer and Elizabeth Wadlow; six grandchildren, Mackenzie, Alexandria, Allina, Roy, Jase and Sam; a brother, Dale (Terri) Deer and nieces and nephews, James (Nancy) Deer, Carley (Kevin) Stubblefield; and great nieces and nephews, Kaitlyn, Houston, Mia and Thatcher. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church beginning at 9 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m with Pastor Jeremy May officiating. If you wish to honor Dans memory, Chiefs attire is suggested. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
