Curtis Edward Amsden

FARMINGTON - Curtis Edward Amsden of Farmington passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Parkland Health center at the age of 51 years. He was born March 14, 1963 at Festus son of Kathleen Mae (Baker) Amsden and the late William Eugene Amsden, Sr.. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a granddaughter Kali Rose Wright. Curtis was a highly skilled livestock handler and enjoyed his work. He was known for getting done whatever he set his mind to do. He enjoyed riding his horse and playing his guitar, but his greatest joy was his family particularly his grandchildren and his mother. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him including his mother Kathleen Amsden of Farmington, three children Tonya, (& Scott) Shearin of Farmington, Levi (& Cecelia) Amsden of Farmington, and Chelsea (& Nathan) Wright of Farmington, four grandchildren Chase Shearin, Brenna Owens, Kendall Wright, and Keeleigh Wright, eight brothers David (& Sheri) Amsden, Paul (& Vicki) Amsden, Norman (& Penny) Amsden, William Jr. (Nancy) Amsden, Matt (& Kim) Amsden, Chris Amsden and Andy Amsden all of Farmington, and Steven Amsden of Seattle, WA, a sister Julie (& Paul) Cunningham of Troy, TN as well as numerous other relatives, neighbors, and dear friends. Curtis' family will receive friends from 4p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Thursday, March 5, 2015. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel. A graveside service will be officiated by Fr. James Dyer at 12 noon on Friday at the Amsden Cemetery located on the Amsden farm East of Farmington.
