Cora Maxine Montgomery

FARMINGTON Maxine Montgomery, 90, passed away March 28, 2018 at Southbrook Nursing Center in Farmington. She was born April 24, 1927 in Lodi, Missouri to the late James "Leslie" Davis and Cora (nee Hovis) Davis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph William "Bill" Montgomery, her daughter in infancy, Carol Montgomery, and six siblings.

Maxine was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #5896 in Farmington. She was an avid bowler until the age of 84. She was a St. Louis Cardinals fan, enjoyed playing bingo, doing crossword puzzles, and collecting bells. Maxine was especially fond of her great grandson, Kayne.

Survivors include her children, Randy (Sharon) Montgomery of Farmington, Diane (Karter) Buckley of Farmington and Tracy (Kevin) Govro of Farmington, five grandchildren, Kent (Amanda Matthews) Buckley, Kassie Govro, Shelby Buckley, Morgan Govro and Mackenzie Govro, one great grandchild, Kayne Buckley, two step granddaughters, Kristin and Holly, a step grandson, Nathan, a sister, Maureen McAllister, brother in law, Frank (Octa) Montgomery, sister in laws, Lillie Ross, Opal Montgomery and Florence Montgomery, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Monday, April 2 at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 4-8 p.m. Graveside service to be held on Tuesday, April 3 at 10 a.m. at Montgomery Cemetery.
