Clyde Edward Looney of Farmington passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2014, at the age of 97. He was born on May 31, 1916, at Allenville, MO, son of the late William Edward and Emily Jane (Brandon) Looney. In addition to his parents, Clyde was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Rosa V. Looney in 2004. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters. Clyde grew up in the Allenville and Dexter area in the Bootheel of Missouri. Several times he relocated to Michigan but always came back to "God's Country" as he called it. He was an avid Cardinal's baseball fan who many times hitchhiked to games. He will be fondly remembered by family and friends as the ultimate prankster and story teller. He enjoyed farming and living off the land. Survivors include his three daughters, Emily (Arnold) Burr, Kathleen Hight and Margie (David) Missey; five grandchildren, Travis Hight, Cindy Lievanos, Michelle Graves, Julie Gamboa and Shannon Rice; ten great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Saturday, February 22 from 9 until 11 a.m. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Allen David officiating.
