Chris Gordon

Christopher James Gordon, age 30, of Springfield, MO, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2015. He was born November 24, 1984, in Springfield, MO, to David Alcorn and Shelly (Howard) Gordon. Chris was a true outdoorsman, he enjoyed, hunting, fishing, camping, and swimming. He excelled in baseball as a child and teenager. Chris always enjoyed his family trips to garage sales and flea markets. He is survived by his parents, Shelly Gordon, Springfield and Bruce Gordon, Springfield , and David Alcorn and wife Cheryl, Everton; one brother, Landon Cook, the state of Kentucky; one sister Sarah Gordon, Springfield; maternal grandparents, Retha Stroud, Springfield, John Stroud and wife Phyllis, Marshfield; paternal grandmother, Sylvia Alcorn, Springfield; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and a host of family and friends.He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandmother, Blanche Bass and his paternal grandfather, Jack Alcorn A celebration of Chris' life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 20, 2015, at Eastlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North in Springfield, Missouri. Because of Chris' great love for animals the family request memorial contributions may be made to the C.A.R.E. Animal Shelter. Local services were entrusted to Cozean Memorial Chapel.
