Charlotte June Summers

CHARLOTTE JUNE SUMMERS FARMINGTON - Charlotte June Summers of Farmington passed away on June 28, 2015 in Cape Girardeau at the age of 80. She was born June 17, 1935 to the late Charles and Mabel (Rehkop) Schrum. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Sonny Summers in 2009; and two sisters, Jean Halter and Zelma (Lee) Davis. A life long resident of the area, Charlotte will be remembered by her family as being a devoted wife and dedicated mother who was fun loving and full of life. She was a woman of faith who was an active member of New Heights Church. An avid reader, Charlotte also enjoyed knitting and ceramics. She had been a member of Beta Sigma Phi. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. Survivors include her two sons, Steven (Julie) Summers of Farmington and Richard Summers of Cape Girardeau; five grandchildren, Chad (Toni) Summers, Andy Summers, Carley Summers, Whitney Summers and Kegan Summers; five great-granddaughters, Bryar, Kailey, Lylah, Riley and Elise; special niece, Nancy Callahan and her children, Kelly, Matt and Chet; special nephews, Mike Lee and Kenny Gulley. A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2015 from 2 - 4 p.m. followed by a memorial service beginning at 4 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Rev. Rocky Good officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in Charlotte's name to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society.
