Charles William Cummings Jr.

PARK HILLS Charles "Sonny" William Cummings Jr., of Park Hills, entered eternal rest on March 3, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family at the age of 74. He was born on November 7, 1949, in Kingman, Arizona, to Charles William Cummings Sr. and Ruth Eileen (Butler) Cummings. Sonny is survived by his children, Joseph Cummings, Charles "Corey" (Kelly) Cummings, and Hope Dawn Cummings, his grandchildren, Kayla, Dakota, Chelsea, and Crystal, his great grandchildren, Samuel, Remington, Colt, Ezekiel, and Wyatt, his twin sister, Charlotte Glidden and other sisters, Betty Reis, Charlene (Gerald) Grubbs, Sue (Johnny) Robins, and Alice Wright, his sister-in-law, Sharon Cummings, special cousin, Penny Blake, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents, Sonny was preceded in death by his daughter, Jeannie Cummings, his brother, Guy Cummings, his sister, Blanche Moore, his nephews, William (Bill) Bollinger and Nathan Harper, and his nieces, Dakota Inman and Gabi Mlynek. Sonny loved his country and was a proud veteran of the United States Army who served in Vietnam. He worked as a United States Postal mail carrier for the Farmington post office for 20 years. He enjoyed rebuilding vehicles and participating in Civil War reenactments. He was a man of many talents and used his skills to build his current home. Sonny loved his family dearly and will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by them. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 15, 2024, at the Outreach Worship Center, 703 Union Street, Marble Hill, MO with a committal service to follow at noon with military honors at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 17357 Stars and Stripes Way in Bloomfield, Missouri.
