FRENCH VILLAGE – Charles Allen Trollinger Sr., of French Village, entered eternal rest on February 15, 2025, at Southbrook Skilled Nursing at the age of 81. He was born on June 24, 1943, in Ironton, Missouri, to the late Charles Lloyd and Opal Dollean (Mayfield) Trollinger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Eleanor Ruth “Judy” Propst.
Charlie proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Chrysler Corporation after many years of employment. Charlie was a long-time member of the Missouri and Illinois Racing Pigeons Combine and raised miniature donkeys, alongside his wife, Carole. Charlie also competed in many road races and marathons, including the Boston Marathon.
Charlie loved his family and especially adored his grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Carole (Carlson) Keil, his sons, Charles “Chuck” Allen (Kim) Trollinger Jr. and Paul Jay Trollinger, his stepsons, Bryan Keith Keil and Bruce Kevin Keil, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, his siblings, Johnny Walter (Patricia) Trollinger, Carol Sue (Larry) Lovette and Penny Lee Froud, special friends, Mary and Andy Clark, along with many other family members and friends.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Cozean Memorial Chapel officiated by Pastor David Duncan. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Trollinger Cemetery in Black, MO. Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to Heart and Soul Hospice, 412 Cayce Street, Farmington, MO 63640.
