Charles Dale Reever

FREDERICKTOWN - Charles D. Reever, of Doe Run, passed away at Claru Deville Nursing Facility in Fredericktown at the age of 85. He was born in Smithboro, Illinois on May 31, 1933 to the late Chester and Alberta (Stump) Reever. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Sarah Ann Reever, in 2011. Also preceding him in death were all of his brothers and sisters; two grandchildren and two sons-in-law. Charles was a hard worker who was a wonderful father and grandfather. He was a proud veteran of the U. S. Army from 1953 to 1955 and worked for the Illinois Central Railroad. In his off time, he was always busy tending to his 220 acre farm and working in his gardens. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending quality time with his family. Survivors include four children, Steven Reever, Chester Reever, Catherine Starkey and Joyce Krause; twenty grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 from 11 to 1 p.m. followed by a funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel. Interment will follow at Doe Run Memorial Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Alzheimers Association or to the American Heart Association.
