Charles George "Charlie" Cunningham of Farmington passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2011, at the age of 85 years. He was born on October 27, 1926, at Weingarten, son of the late Charles W. and Jennie (Bauers) Cunningham. A life long resident of the Farmington area, Charlie proudly served his country during WWII in the U. S. Navy. In 1947 he married the love of his life, Edna Larby at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Farmington. Many will remember Charlie as an accomplished upholsterer. He had an upholstery shop in his home for many years until his retirement several years ago. In retirement, Charlie and Edna enjoyed traveling, especially to Branson where they liked going to music shows. Gardening and growing flowers were a passion of Charlie's and he was very fond of his pets, especially his last dog, Butterball. In addition to his wife of almost 65 years, Edna, Charlie is survived by a sister-in-law, Lillian (Mrs. George) Bellas of Scottsdale, AZ; a cousin, Gene Bauers and his wife Jane; nieces, Barbara Shirrell of Pevely, Diana (Mrs. Harold) Benton of Warrensburg, IL, Joann (Mrs. Glennon) Greishauber of Maryland Heights, Jeannette (Mrs. Kurt) Lowber of Arnold, Wanda Yow of Farmington, Martha (Mrs. Tom) Lewis of Redmond, OR and a nephew, Donald Alexander and wife Joyce of Farmington. Also surviving are a host of great-nieces, great-nephews and many good friends. Friends may call at St. Paul Lutheran Church on Thursday, December 29 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. with Pastor James King officiating. Interment will be at Hillview Memorial Gardens in Farmington. Memorials may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran School. Share your condolences and memories at cozean.biz.
